Emilie stood outside of the castle, and stared up at the stars, reflected in the windows of her old room high in Gryffindor Tower.
After the death of Headmaster Sykes, everyone had just seemed to... give up. No one came here any more. Emilie herself was being taught through books she picked up at Flourish and Blotts, with a little help from Freya Rose, the old duelling teacher.
The halls were now abandoned, empty, lonely as she wandered through them. She couldn't remember the last time she'd seen any of her friends outside the grounds of this place. Even Freya seemed a different person.
Emilie sighed, and put her hands in her pockets. She would have been in the Great Hall right now, having dinner. There was her seat, empty like the rest. No food in front of it, although there was a plate set out and ready. Presumably even the house elves had gone, because there was a layer of dust silently blanketing everything.
There would have been a huge fire blazing in the Gryffindor Common Room, and the prize armchairs in front of it would all have been full of students. The desks scattered sporadically along the walls would have had other Gryffindors frantically finishing homework, or writing home. Even better, planning their next prank to play on the Slytherins. They were empty too, save a few scraps of paper and the odd mouse.
The small girl smiled. Not that she was small any more. Sixteen, although she was still only five feet tall. She pulled her long coat tighter around herself. "I miss you." She murmered up at the walls of the castle. "I miss Saphy, and Jer, and Sean. I even miss Oliver, for all his faults." Her French accent was almost indiscernable now, and there was no trace of the stutter that had plagued her childhood.
And that's when she decided. Going to the post office in Hogsmede with some of the money her father had left her, Emilie sent a message to Jerica. Jer at least she knew would come. When she was here they could figure out who else to invite.
The message was simply:
The Lawns. Hogwarts. ASAP. Fancy a party...? Em xxx
And now, here she was again. Staring up at the once filled and loved walls, her hands stuffed deeply in her pockets. Her voice was soft as she murmered up at the castle "One last night, you're going to ring with the sounds of kids having fun. Just one more night..."

Jerica had been in and out of teh school alot lately, not staying around the the hush of hogwarts was a strange sounds to her after the bustle she was use to i being... where had everyone gotten off to.
that day earlier she had been sittin gin hogsemede when and owl flew to her shoulder with a scroll wow i havent got anything from anyone in a while she thought to her self wondering it was from... when she read it she could help but smile... and with no notice was on her way to the school without looking it came naturally.
emilie, jerica smiled it been so long she had seen any of her friends, any one at all. as she clreaed the school hallways walking around (since she had to grab a coat from the common room, that to was emtpy and sent a shiver down her spin as she made it to the girls rooms) off to the lawns she was.
the school halls were dead, and she knew it wasnt because the students where in class. they were just gone, teachers including.. as a few hung around... emilie must have been one of them..
there it was the large lawn the spanded in front of her as she pushed her way out the oak doors... jer headed fast
"its so not a live" even the whompping willow seemed to have given up in teh distant... and then there as alone figure.. jer came up witha smirk.
"me and a party, how could i say no, i mean did i ever say no before?" jerica smile she knew that emilie must have known jerica would come no matter what she was up or or what she doing it was just the way she was, always was. the smile felt like it wrapped around jer's face... the memories.

Hearing her friend's voice, Emilie turned. How long had it been since they'd seen each other, face to face? She couldn't remember when it had been. She grinned, her smile stretching almost from ear to ear and opened her arms in an expansive shrug.
"Well, you never know. Stranger things have happened." She looked over her shoulder, back up at the castle and her grin lost its happy warmth. "Like this place" she added sadly.
Brightening up, she looked back to Jerica, her smile restored. Clapping her hands together, she jumped on the spot. "Right." she said, animatedly. "It's either going to be just you and me or we get some other people up here for the send-off." Her wand was in her pocket, and she reached for it.
"Either way, we're going to need some warming up." In her hand, along with her wand, was Davey Rose's hip flask. it was small and silver, with a pattern of (unsurprisingly) roses engraved on it's surface. Although it fit into the palm of Emilie's hand, inside was large enough for a whole bottle of firewhiskey. Which was what Emilie had put into it.
"Fancy a tipple?" She wiggled the bottle, offering it to the other girl. "It's be great if we could get Saphy here. SHe used to love that stuff."
((not fantastic I know, but was up till five this morning writing stories then analysing them, so I've got a shortage of muse at the moment))
